Join colleagues, industry experts, and members of the Kentucky public library community as the Kentucky Public Library Association (KPLA) takes our annual conference all VIRTUAL!  This innovative, accessible, and affordable professional development experience celebrates the common good among our libraries through informative and applicable sessions, virtual social networking activities, time to interact with vendors, and keynote talks from children’s author Marc Brown and actress Amy Sedaris.  Registration opens soon, so start making plans to attend today! 

Call for Session Proposals

Session Proposals & Online Submission Form

KPLA is successful because of interesting and engaging presenters like you!  With the exciting, innovative work happening in all of Kentucky’s public libraries, this conference is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our common ground by sharing expertise, ideas, and best practices with colleagues from across the Commonwealth.  Session proposals are encouraged on all topics from libraries of all shapes and sizes.  

All session proposals must be submitted via the online Google Form, linked here:  https://forms.gle/qNrbi1b5eUEpLsN88.  Be certain you are using this link to access the updated online form.  To assist with submission planning, a PDF of the updated proposal form can be viewed here.  Upon successfully submitting a proposal, you should receive a copy of the completed form at the email address you provided.

Deadline & Decision Timeline

Session proposals will be accepted through Friday, January 22, 2021.  Review and selection of submissions will take place immediately following the deadline.  Notification of acceptance is scheduled to begin Monday, February 1, 2021.

Registration for KPLA 2021 Virtual will open soon, using the Kentucky Library Association’s new platform, MemberClicks.  Registration prices will be: 

Trustees and Friends of the Library:  $10

All other attendees:  $25

Virtual conference attendance is a safe and economical way for greater involvement from members of your library’s staff who might not otherwise be able to travel to an in-person conference. 

A specialized conference website to include the conference schedule, vendor listing, and session platforms will be released soon.  The website, including recorded sessions, will remain available to virtual attendees for three months beyond the conference date.
